'Life is a Journey'

Life is a celebration of many moments, and there is little more special than being able to hang on to each and every one of them. These are more than just photos, they are a window into my life!

"Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again."

I am an adventure, landscape and documentary photographer who strives to capture the deep, rich colors of nature and life in general. A passionate person, I became consumed with photography while traveling in Scandinavia. During my first journey to Norway, I was inspired by the grandiose landscapes of mountains and endless coastlines.

I use camera formats ranging from 35 mm and medium format, to the latest in digital camera technologies. Now I mainly photograph with digital equipment. Since the beginning I have been true to the Pentax system, sticking with it ever since I started photography. Part of this was that many people always consider Pentax the underdog in the professional SLR market. I like to sympathize with underdogs. I admired them for not changing their mount when auto focus came around, which I found to be very honest. Their equipment and lenses are as fine as any and have served me very well in many areas and countries around the world and never let me down. For rangefinders, I have used the Leica M-4P and M-6 extensively during my film days and this year procured the Leica Q2.  I also use extensively the Olympus MFT system as well as a Fuji x100s camera which comes close to my Leicas. I call myself a “photo enthusiast” as well as a passionate photographer. I love what I do but I am still searching for the holy grail of cameras and images. In autumn of 2009 I decided to put up this site where I can share my images with YOU!

I have been photographing since I was 18 years old (quite a while ago), as such making it a lifelong passion of mine. Currently my hard drives are filled with thousands of images, photos of family, strangers, events, street life, travel, wild life and whatever else. So far I have used about 20 different cameras of all shorts and styles to take these images. I never sold a camera I bought and still have each and everyone stored at home, those that I do not use are packed away.

Having lived in the Middle East and South Asia for about 30 years, developed my cross-cultural understanding and sensitivity. This allows me to effectively work in my world and the world of the persons I am photographing. In the past my work has been featured in an exhibition and auction for an NGO in Gaza. Images have also been used by international clients such as CIDA and an agency for Scandinavian photography and publications. In addition I have worked for a big international organization as a staff photographer in the Middle East. My work featured here is mostly from 2001 onwards, taken mostly with digital cameras. I am currently scanning and editing my analog work, which in due time, I will also publish on this site.

Thank you for viewing my photographs. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy sharing them with you. Please contact me with any questions.
